Don't these cupcakes just scream summer? I love how awesomely easy it is to decorate cupcakes with Wilton chocolate just by creating new shapes on wax paper. We'll show you, step by step, how to create these Palm Tree Cupcakes for your next summer birthday party!
What you'll need...
- Graham Crackers (crushed into crumbs)
- Wilton Milk Chocolate
- Wilton White Chocolate (in green)
Place a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet.
Melt the milk chocolate and place in a piping bag (or a Ziploc bag with a small cut off the corner for piping).
Draw two lines on the wax paper to create the outline of the trunk of your tree.
Pipe "X"'s between the two lines and an additional line at the top and the bottom of your trunk.
Repeat until you have created several palm tree trunks.
Pipe four curved lines stemming from the top of your tree to begin to create the palm fronds.
Move the piping bag back forth to create zigzags on each line. Pipe the chocolate so that it falls angled towards the inside of the tree (see pic below) to create the perfect palm frond.
Place the entire cookie sheet in the refrigerator so that the chocolate can cool and harden.
While the chocolate is hardening, frost your cupcakes.
Then dip each frosted cupcake into the graham cracker crumbs, covering all of the frosting until no white is seen.
Remove the chocolate palm trees from the fridge and gently place into the center of each cupcake.
