Martini Sugar Cookies

Martini Sugar Cookies

Aren't these just so adorable? What better dessert to serve at your classy birthday party than martini sugar cookies? (Probably some cake...but you can have cookies too!)

Today we're showing you our go-to icing recipe and how to make these cute martini sugar cookies.

What you'll need...

  • Your favorite sugar cookie recipe
  • A martini cookie cutter (found at your local baking supply store or Amazon)
  • 2 - 2 1/2 cups of confectioners sugar
  • 2 tbsp plus 2 tsp of water
  • 1 tbsp light corn syrup
  • Pink food dye (or green if you want an appletini look)
  • Grey food dye (or black but using very little)
  • Pink or green sugar sprinkles

Making your cookies...

Make your favorite sugar cookie recipe and use the martini cookie cutter to cut out your shapes. Bake the cookies and let them cool.

Making your icing...

To make your icing combine the confectioners sugar, water, and corn syrup in a bowl. Start with 2 cups of confectioners sugar and then check the consistency. If it looks a bit runny, add some more confectioners sugar. Split the icing into two bowls. Add pink (or green) dye to one bowl and the grey (or very little black) dye to the other. Mix until no white streaks remain.

Decorating your cookies...

Place a small amount of pink icing on the center of the cookie. Using the spatula slowly spread the icing out to the edges of the "glass", pretending the pink is the drink in the martini glass.

Quickly add the sprinkles on top of the wet icing. Once the icing is dry, use a pastry brush to brush away any excess sprinkles on the cookie.

Add the grey icing to a piping bag (or a ziploc bag with the bottom corner cut off) and pipe the exterior of your "glass". Create a lip at the top of the cookie to resemble the lip of a martini glass.

Repeat the steps above for the rest of your cookies and then you're done! You just made some gorgeous cookies! Tie them up in a cellophane bag and add some cute ribbon to hand out as party favors or add them all to a gift box for someone's birthday gift!
